Au cours des années 1980, il a publié plusieurs romans, notamment Dehors les enfants, Vendredi-Friday et Carnaval, qui ont marqué l’espace littéraire. En 2005, il était lauréat du prix littéraire de Radio-Canada pour son récit: Un ciel bleu rose. Il habite Montréal.
