Ottawa's oldest stone building, beside the Ottawa Locks at the foot of the Rideau Canal, houses a small community history museum run by the Women's Canadian Historical Society of Ottawa since 1917. Exhibits cover Lt.-Col. John By, the building of the canal and early Bytown life. Open Wednesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
