Né à Montréal, Serge Bruneau est un artiste peintre qui maintient une démarche picturale depuis le milieu des années soixante-dix. Il a poursuivi ses études universitaires jusqu'à la maîtrise en arts. La rédaction de textes sur l'art pour des revues l'a, peu à peu, amené à l'écriture romanesque. Quelques braises et du vent est son cinquième roman.
