Everything to talk about Pouding chômeur, in three parts.
In brief
Pouding chômeur (poudingchomeur.com) is a free listing of all the live culture of Québec: shows, open mics, art openings, launches, festivals and niche events, from big halls to the smallest rooms. Its 28 regions follow the way people get around rather than administrative borders. Launched in the fall of 2026, it is available in French and English, with no sign-up.
Today’s figures:
- 24,247 upcoming events
- 3,233 this week
- 2,611 venues with upcoming events
- 611 towns and cities
- 993 craftspeople
- 28 regions
Regions as people live them
The regions of Pouding chômeur do not follow administrative borders. They follow the way people get around: the towns where people go see a show without thinking twice, whatever the county or administrative region.
Lévis goes with Québec City, Gatineau with Ottawa, Granby with Saint-Hyacinthe. The Gaspé Peninsula is split in three, because nobody in Gaspé drives to Carleton for a show. Saguenay and Lac-Saint-Jean each have their own page. Témiscouata reaches into Maine, and Burlington has its own page, less than two hours from Montréal.

The news release for all of Québec
24,247 upcoming cultural events all over Québec, gathered in one place
A free listing covers 28 regions, from big halls to the smallest bars, from Abitibi to the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
MONTRÉAL, October 24, 2026 — “How many times did you find out the next day that there was an amazing show two streets from home?” That is the question Pouding chômeur (poudingchomeur.com) asks on its home page. Its answer: a listing of all the live culture of Québec, in one place. Today it holds 24,247 upcoming events in 2,611 venues across 611 towns and cities, 3,233 of them this week alone.
Concerts, theatre, comedy, open mics, jams, art openings, book launches, storytelling, dance, trivia, festivals: anything that happens on a stage or in a room belongs there. Bars, libraries, community arts centres, artist-run centres and tiny rooms sit next to the big halls.
The site also features 993 craftspeople from all over Québec, potters, woodworkers, jewellers, weavers, glassmakers and bookbinders, sorted by craft and by region, with their upcoming markets and shows.

“Québec is a year-round festival. What was missing was one place to see all of it,” says Mathieu Poirier, founder of Pouding chômeur. “A forty-seat room in Rimouski matters as much as an arena in Montréal.”
Every region has its own page, with what is on tonight, this weekend, the free events and a wall of posters. The site is free, with no sign-up, in English and French. Venues, artists and organizations can list their events at no cost. Pouding chômeur also offers free advertising space to approved community organizations.
Anyone missing? We want to know. A venue, a bar, a library, a festival, a troupe, an artist or a craftsperson who is not listed yet just has to write to bonjour@poudingchomeur.com. It is free. “If your venue, your show or your studio is missing, write to us. We want everyone,” adds Mathieu Poirier.
