Les Joanneries
Working with raw materials has always fascinated me. Whether it is silver, wood, textiles and polymer materials, being able to model a material from a drawn concept or a fleeting idea constitutes my primary action, that of respecting the creative impulse that it inspires in me. My indigenous Micmac and Huron mixed-race origins are not without influences, they come to adorn my work with memories written in my genes. Modeling certainly, but also representing through color different aspects of contemporary jewelry and jewelry. My master's degree research on clothing inspired by painting led me in a direction that also fascinates me: jewelry inspired by painting. This jewelry becomes, in its miniature representation, a metaphorical citation of an artistic culture in those who wear them. Fragments of the iconography of modern painting, they offer interpreted representations of artistic periods or famous painters. The jewel in its state of citation also becomes the pretext to explore sculpture, this time in the modeling and structure of abstract and contemporary forms.
