About
It all began with a love story. N0rth fell in love with the banjo, and from that passion, Banjo Ballads for Broken Babes was born.
With this 7th album, N0rth takes an old-time folk turn and roots herself in the landscapes of her region. She tells the story of her own life, closely tied to the nature around her, along with the lives of women, past and present. Nostalgia, mystery, comfort.
Her voice recalls the late Lhasa, and her compositions evoke the world of Karen Dalton.
The album also features a piece from the American folk repertoire and two collaborations with Sarah Pagé and Jonah Fortune.
"One is not born a woman, one becomes one." This phrase has followed her since the album's very first notes.
**Several surprise guests**
