About
Above all, David James is a sculptor, internationally recognized for his cast-glass sculptures and monumental granite works. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections in Canada and abroad. In 2011, several of his sculptures were designated by the Department of Canadian Heritage as being of “national significance and importance.” In the Espace Claire-Léger, James invites us to discover another facet of his practice: photography. Experiences: People and Places is his first exhibition devoted to photography. It brings together images made during travels through a dozen countries, where portraits, landscapes and unexpected scenes come together—sometimes contemplative, sometimes quirky, and at times expansive in scale.
